Here’s what is changing, when the new rules take effect and what it means for Hemp Bombs customers.

Federal law is changing how it defines hemp. Instead of looking primarily at Delta-9 THC concentration, the new definition uses total THC and also addresses other cannabinoids.
The new federal rules include Delta 8, THCA and other specified cannabinoids in the updated framework. They also establish a 0.4 mg total-THC-per-container cap for covered finished Hemp-derived cannabinoid products.
That 0.4 mg limit applies to the entire container, not each individual serving. For example, a 5 mg gummy would exceed the new per-container limit by 12.5 times.
The new definition also excludes cannabinoids that the Cannabis sativa L. plant cannot naturally produce from the federal definition of Hemp.
For Hemp Bombs, the biggest impact is on our Delta 8 and Delta 9 product lines. Our CBD products are made with CBD isolate and are separate from these THC products.
The new federal Hemp rules have two important effective dates. Two other critical dates are when HR 6500 was signed into law, delaying the changes and when Public Law 119-37 was signed into law, redefining Hemp.
